Thomas Dassler confirmed as new member of the board of the Verband Chemiehandel e.V.

Last week, the annual meeting of the Verband Chemiehandel e.V. (VCH) took place again in Cologne after a break due to Corona. The general meeting, held in Cologne, had in particular the new elections of the board on the agenda. Mr. Volker Seebeck, Helm AG, and Mr. Frank Edler, OQEMA GmbH, resigned from their positions due to retirement.


As a result of the election, the new VCH Board of Directors is composed as follows (shown in the picture from left to right):

Häffner managing director Thomas Dassler is thus from now on part of the VCH board and represents in this function the interests of the German wholesale and foreign trade in the area of chemicals.

“Lively discussions were held during the meetings about which factors are currently influencing the sector or will do so in the medium term. In addition to the topics of procurement, sustainability, digitalization and supply chains, logistics in particular emerged as a key factor. (…) The companies in the chemical trade have a particular function as production link traders between the chemical industry as producers and the processing industry or manufacturing sector. The industry, which is structured as a medium-sized enterprise, achieved a turnover of 13.85 million euros in 2020 with its approximately 7,900 employees.” (Source: VCH press release dated Sept. 30, 2021)
